The government is committed to comply
under the EU Directive 2002/91/EC which intends to promote
improvements into the energy performance of properties
and the directive therefore requires a seller to have
an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before marketing
the property for sale.
Benefits include:
- How energy efficient a home is on the scale of
A-G grading with the most efficient homes in band
A
- The impact your homes carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
has on the environment
- Estimated annual consumption of electricity, gas,
and other fuels - all based on current energy performance
- Current levels of thermal insulation.
- Details of the type of heating system installed
and its controls, efficiency levels etc.
- Details of recommended measures such as cavity
wall insulation or a new boiler to improve the banding
in the Energy Certificate.
- Details of the costs involved to achieve a higher
banding.
- Details of annual savings achieved by carrying
out recommended measures.
